Yoga 2022: Good News! Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi is celebrating this Makar Sankranti in a different way performing Surya Namaskar.
Different Religious bodies in India are graving this opportunity hand-to-hand and trying to contribute to the campaign performing more and more Surya Namaskar.
Patanjali Foundation president Swami Ramdev has launched an initiative to attempt 75 crore Surya Namaskars. He has announced and launched the campaign last week in presence of Minister of Ayush and Ports Sarbananda Sonowal, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of Prohibition and Excise of Telangana V Srinivas Goud, and president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission Daaji.
Also, Geeta Parivar, Kreeda Bharti, Heartfulness Institute, and National Yogasan Sports Federation have come forward to contribute to this mission with the Ministry of Ayush & Patanjali Yogpeeth together.
As per online sources, 30 states of India and more than 20000 institutes, and more than 1 million students have registered for this campaign already and the mission is still on the go.
One website www.75suryanamaskar.com is also being launched to register and record the Surya Namaskar performances where institutes, individuals, and volunteers can register and record their Surya namaskar Performance daily. After completion of 21 days of 13 Surya namaskars daily, the participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
Also, this would be a record in the Guinness Book of Records, if this gets completed successfully.
But I see it as a very big Health Awareness Campaign. If a person performs 13 Surya Namaskars daily for 21 days, then this exercise can be a part of habit as psychology says that if you perform a task for 21 days repeatedly then it becomes your habit. If this happens then thousands of Indian Citizens will feel a change in their lifestyle and health conditions.
