A stand-alone expansion, Contract J.A.C.K. was released in 2005. The story continues where No One Lives Forever 2 left off, with the player now a member of the futuristic organization H.A.R.M. and tasked with assassinating both government leaders and H.A.R.M. rogue agent Stax. The title was originally released for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation Portable and was followed by a sequel, No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way, which was released in 2006. The game was ported to the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS in 2011 and 2012 respectively and to PlayStation 4 in 2016. Contract J.A.C.K. is set in a distant future in the year 2030, two years after the events of the original No One Lives Forever, and follows the protagonist, an agent named JACK, as he arrives at a training facility called "H.A.R.M." ("Help A Ridiculous Cause In More Ways Than One"), owned and operated by the U.S. government, where he must complete a series of missions. The game was a departure from the previous game, which featured a series of branching plotlines that ultimately led to one final climactic confrontation. The sequel, No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way, kept a more linear structure than its predecessor, focusing on a single character, Agent 33. The game centers around the character as she infiltrates an H.A.R.M. facility and tries to gain access to an H.A.R.M. project called "SACRED," which is believed to be a way to change the course of the future. The game was originally released on 22 January 2003 for Windows PCs, receiving mixed reviews for its gameplay, graphics and overall story. However, it received more praise for its plot, characters, and numerous Easter eggs. With no sequel announced at the time, the game was followed by a standalone expansion, Contract J.A.C.K. 2, which was released in 2005. A sequel to the expansion, No One Lives Forever 3: Under Fire, was developed by the studio but released in 2006 after being pushed back from 2004. The final game in the series, No One Lives Forever: Path of the Damned, was released in 2017 and is a prequel to the original No One Lives Forever.
